My Pinakbet Recipe


Nacu Pinakbet Recipe (Meat-Vegetable Stew)

The Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kilo Pork meat (Sliced into small pieces)
  •  1/2 cup Squash
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup String Beans
  • 5 cloves Garlic
  • 2 Onions
  • Black ground pepper
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup Sesame Oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Ginger Powder
  • 1/4 cup bagoong (Shrimp Paste)
Cooking Procedure:
  • Wash the pork and vegetables. 
  • Minced the garlic,onions. Slice the squash (desired size).
  •  Heat sesame oil in frying pan
  • Saute the garlic and onions in sesame oil.
  • Add the pork . cook until its lightly brown.
  • Add in all the vegetables. Cook until vegetable is done (careful not to overcook).
  • Salt , pepper , garlic powder and bagoong (shrimp paste) to taste.
  • Server hot (better with plain rice).

Trivia Spot:
The Pinakbet or pakbet is a popular Ilocano dish in the Philippines.A Tagalog version usually includes calabaza or what we call squash.
